Fun fact: on my flight out here this week, I saw a guy board the plane wearing a Sports Racers T-shirt. I was thrilled.

Of course, a Daily Ping shirt would be even better!

Funner fact: vacation starts in a matter of hours.

Yesterday I was looking at the United Airlines site, and noticed that the Super Discount Wowee Saver tickets cost 25,000 frequent flyer miles. This is the same amount I've seen on UAL's site forever - including a few days earlier when I was booking a flight.

Jeani, however, claims that the day before yesterday the site showed 15,000 miles as the cost for the Incredible Cheapo Super Duper Saver tickets. She's convinced that the price was increased by United.

Can anyone out there confirm this? I've never seen 15,000 miles out there as a price, but it would put our minds at ease to have some verification!

So my flight to Webvisions was delayed nearly 2 hours, and then sat on the runway for 1.5 hours. A huge pain in other words.

When our plane pulled up at the departure gate, then, we were happy to see it. People came off the plane in huge packs (I never really noticed this happened) and then, well, there were two guys who took a moment to stand near the door and talk with the United employee at the little desk.

I looked at him, really looked at him and thought, "Gee, he looks familiar." Because he did. He had a couple inches on me, had a lot of lines on his face, grey curly hair, and was just wearing a grey t-shirt and shorts. I made eye contact with him for more than a few moments and gave him a smile, just to be nice. The two men then walked right next to me on the way out of O'Hare.

I looked around to see if anyone else recognized the guy, or was making phone calls. Indeed, one woman to my right was making a call. So I pulled out the phone and left a message for Jeani (our phone line was having problems.)

After I made the call, the woman said to me, "You know, I think we're the only two who even knew who that was." I said, "Yeah! I think so!"

It was George Wendt. You might remember him as TV's Norrrrmmmm! There he was, getting off a regular ol' United flight from Grand Rapids.

The year of meeting celebrities continues!
