method rolled out bloq (hah!), a line of soapy soaps. And stuff.
I happened to be at Target yesterday and checked them out - very very nifty. They're all rather small, but smell pretty nice. $5 a pop; $5 for shaving cream (for instance) isn't too bad, but I do believe the giant Trader Joe's natural shaving cream I currently use costs around $4.
That said when I run out of it, I'm willing to try out the bloq.
The packaging exudes a kind of quiet coolness, in contrast to method's other bottles. (Oh, and I love the new dish soap bottle. I AM A GEEK.)
I promise, I'm not reading books in order to get a free personal pan pizza.
Yesterday I started Self-Made Man. Today, I finished it. I know! It really was a quick read (of course, giving it 2.5 hours of a 4.5 hour flight didn't hurt any.)
Unfortunately, the book followed this format for each of its main chapters: Vincent infiltrates group x, writes about group x and members y and z, reveals she is a woman to group and/or members. That was it. It felt a little simplistic in that regard.
I would have liked to have read more details about her relationships and what it felt like for her. These topics are covered but not in any great length. I'm also really curious about what her wife thought about all this, and how this impacted her mental and psychological states during the experiment (we do get a wrap-up of sorts on this.)
There's nothing too deep here, I'm afraid. There are some nice insights relating to men's emotions. Still, I recommend it.
So yeah, 90 in San Francisco is pretty warm!
It is definitely a "dry" heat though.
Now, time for dinner.
So I switched back to Safari last week after using Firefox forever. I just can't seem to settle on a good browser on the Mac - I haven't been able to in a long time. I'll probably go back to Firefox though.
I.
The MacBook is back and better than ever. The Apple Store replaced my finicky SuperDrive and had it back to me in a day (well, technically less.) There's definitely a Ping coming about the lousy, stupid reservation system for the Genius Bar though - it doesn't work, or at least, didn't for me.
Just glad the thing can read CDs again.
II.
Yesterday morning I was drinking coffee in the car when I started to spill some. I feared the worst, imagining it had spilled on my shirt. I looked down to see all of it had been spilled onto the seat belt. So I said out loud...
"Saved by the BELT!"
IIa.
Of course I spilled coffee on myself here at work about an hour ago. This time, not so lucky as I wasn't wearing a seat belt. The upside is that my shirt's pattern is loud enough to mask any coffee spill.

I added both the new Tori Amos and Nine Inch Nails albums to my ever-growing "albums to buy" list. It's like it's 1995 all over again, isn't it?
