QotD (from me): Amazon Relics
For today's Ping I needed to look up when my first order with Amazon took place and, whad'ya know, they've got all that info on the internets. I was able to determine that my first order was in December 1998, when I bought something for my sister. Neat!
What are your Amazon relics? Find out by going to your account, and then choosing "Complete Order History Sorted By Year" in the top dropdown.
Some notes from my orders:
- I bought my first DVD player on November 30, 1999, but ended up selling it to Greg because my TV (which I still have!) had no RCA video inputs. Eventually we bought a DVD player and an RF modulator to take care of it. The hilarious/sad part? The DVD player cost $350.00. (PS: where'd I get that cash?)
- I bought my first TiVo on September 2, 2000 for just $99.88. Not bad.
- In April 2000, my sis and I bought my mom a new VCR, which cost more than the TiVo at $120. (Wow.) Also, she rarely uses it - it's a little too new-tech. (I love you, mom.)
- I bought my fave headphones in October, 2002 and am wearing them right now.
- Not sure why I bought Pooh Bounce Around Tigger & Roo Too in November, 1999. (The better question is, whom was it a gift for?)
Fun stuff. Thanks for keeping all this info around, Amazon.
