I've got $50,000 and an hour
The original version of the QOTD said $50k. Darn it!
First, I'd go across the street to Jamba Juice and buy a Peanut Butter Moo'd. ($4.50).
Then, I'd do most of this online:
- Buy a Honda Element ($20,000)
- Buy assorted furniture for the house, or a gift card at a furniture store ($9,000)
- New computers and software and stuff - apple.com, duh ($7,500)
- Buy two clothing store gift cards at $1,000 each - one for me, one for Jeani ($2,000)
- We're going on a vacation! Thanks, Orbitz! ($5,000)
- Let's make our music library kickass ($600)
- Two Nintendo DSes and games ($400)
- Whole Foods Gift Card ($250) - ie, wouldn't it be nice to buy luxury food items when the mood struck you?
- The remaining $5,245.50 would go buy some stocks or more 403(b) goodness.
That all said, the practical thing to do would be to swipe that $50k at our debt and be debt-free. Not nearly as fun, though.
