Friends Don't Let Friends Use Access
I'd like to remind everyone that while Microsoft Publisher may be the worst format ever, Access is damned close.
Access is pretty much crap. Crap. Crap. Crap. And if you ever need to migrate your data out of it, please be sure that the person who created said database actually knows how to put a database together. (In other words, if you need to break one field up into multiple fields because of your database engine - hi, Access! - maybe you shouldn't be using that engine.)

We have a database that we use to track a lot of important data with and it has an Access front end and a SQL backend and IT SUCKS. It's the suckiest suck that ever did suck. I've been trying to write some custom queries to pull out data and it's impossible because all the fields in all the tables have the same names for slightly different bits of data. Haaaaaate.
The only thing Access is good for is for building clickable prototypes. It should never be used to store data.
